To ensure that our sessions are all rounded and nurture the learners well, we use different approaches of learning at our club. It also helps break monotony. The results are well educated students with diverse skillsets ready to pursue their respective aviation careers at tertiary levels with high level precision and sharpness.
First, we teach the students on diverse aviation topics such as principles of flight, aerodynamics, aviation history, career paths, airports, runways, aircraft navigation, aircraft manufacturers, aviation industry bodies in Kenyan and the world, among others. This is good to make them understand exactly how things are in the sector. Soft skills such as communication and interpersonal skills are developed in the process. Their wonder is satiated to some extent as they drink more and more aviation knowledge. It also unlocks some curiosity in them, where they would want to learn more about the industry.
Besides, aviation trivia are good for brainstorming sessions. They learn research and critical thinking skills. They will go and read more books just not to fail in the next sessions, hence learning in the process. Highly skilled aviation professionals are also invited to give them specialized guidance on specific careers. Here, they learn about aviation professions and develop a liking to the ones they feel like pursuing.
During group projects, they learn the technical bits of them alongside teamwork, collaboration, and a culture of work ethic. Since they can be exposed to different materials, instruments, and new members each time, they learn to be adaptive as well. This are essential skills for any professional looking to succeed in other fields apart from aviation as well.
Aviation field trips, finally, teach them to be observant and apply classroom knowledge in real life scenarios. They interact with real aviation infrastructure and resource people. In the end, all rounded individuals are born our of club activities.
